What it is
Hair Jeevan is a 200 ml herbal hair oil made by hand in small batches from 15 handpicked ingredients — coconut, almond, castor and sesame oils infused with neem, hibiscus, curry leaf, methi, henna, aloe vera, amla, onion, onion seed and flaxseed. Neem, curry leaf, henna, aloe vera, amla and the hibiscus leaves grow in the family’s own garden in Kelwa and are picked the week they are used; the oils and the remaining dry ingredients are bought from suppliers the family has used for years. No parabens, no mineral oil, no synthetic fragrance. Massaged into the scalp two to three times a week, it is traditionally used to nourish the scalp, support hair strength and reduce hair fall.

The herbs — neem, curry leaf, henna, aloe vera, amla and hibiscus leaves — grow in our own garden in Kelwa and are picked the week they are used. The oils and the remaining dry ingredients are bought in, from suppliers we have used for years. No parabens, no mineral oil, no synthetic fragrance — nothing goes in that is not on this list.

Before you
start.
- How often should I use it?
- Two to three times a week, consistently. Massage it into the scalp, leave it overnight where you can, and wash it out the next morning with a mild herbal shampoo.
- The oil has gone solid in the bottle. Is something wrong?
- No. The coconut oil base sets in cold weather — that is the oil behaving like oil, not a fault. Warm the bottle in your hands, or stand it in warm water, until it runs again.
- Does it contain mineral oil, parabens or added fragrance?
- None of the three. All 15 ingredients are named on this page — there is nothing in the bottle that is not on that list.
- How long before I see a difference?
- We will not put a number on that, and we would be careful of anyone who does. Hair changes gradually and it differs from person to person. Use it consistently and judge it over months rather than days.
- Where do the ingredients come from?
- The herbs come from our own garden in Kelwa and are picked the week they are used rather than bought in by the sack and stored. The oils and a few of the dry ingredients we buy in, from suppliers we have used for years — we are a small family and we cannot press our own oil.
- Is it suitable for everyone?
- It is made for regular use on the scalp and the lengths. Read the ingredient list first: if you have a known allergy to anything on it, or a scalp condition you are being treated for, ask your doctor before starting.
